Two chairs for Japanese brand Ishinomaki Laboratory.

BOX is designed to make use of the brand's clever DIY system: all the elements of the chair fit within the seat part, and can be easily transported.

The chair comes in a compact, sturdy rectangular wooden box that becomes the seat, and the user can simply screw in the legs and the backrest.

Easy to transport, easy to assemble, and easy to use with its reduced footprint. 

BOARD makes the most of Ishinomaki lab’s signature raw wood planks and basic wood assembly techniques.
The design aimed to obtain a sturdy construction, comfortable seating posture and simple visual language by playing cleverly with the different sections of wood.
The result is a compact, yet surprisingly comfortable solid wood chair with a calm appearance.
